The Robotic Breakthrough That Could Help Stroke Survivors Reclaim Their Stride

Researchers led by Associate Professor Aaron Young are developing robotic exoskeletons that adapt to stroke survivors instead of forcing patients to adapt to the machine. By using AI to learn the rhythm of each person’s stride in real time, the devices reduce strain, increase efficiency, and help restore confidence in walking.
