The George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering at Georgia Tech plays a key role in national security research by developing advanced engineering solutions that support defense and non-proliferation efforts. These efforts include leadership of a consortium to improve nuclear non-proliferation technologies, developing new combustion technologies, and creating hypersonic materials and systems. Woodruff School researchers are also driving breakthroughs in secure electronics, cybersecurity, and resilient systems. Strategic partnerships with the Georgia Tech Research Institute, national laboratories, and industry ensure that tomorrow’s engineered innovations will be deployed to make an impact on national security.
