The abundance of opportunities to teach and be involved in research projects provided to me during my undergraduate studies at the Woodruff School were some of the primary deciding factor for me to continue my graduate work at Woodruff School. I was well aware of the research facilities in different areas of Mechanical Engineering even before starting my graduate work. The caring attitude of faculty members was the icing on the cake. Faculty members were involved in research in almost every major area, graduate courses were offered in not only fundamental, but also advanced/cutting-edge topics.
My graduate experience at Woodruff School prepared me for both academia and industry. Doctoral students were given the opportunity to actively participate in teaching with a faculty member as a mentor — the lessons learned have been invaluable to me. The opportunity to intern with Ford helped me realize the applicability of my research in industry.
Overall, the caring faculty, the friendly and energetic student body, and the world class facilities made my experience at the Woodruff School unforgettable. On top of that, Atlanta has gorgeous weather and is a fun place to be.
