Woodruff School graduate student Matthew Fronk won the International Design Engineering Technical Conferences (IDETC) first place award for his paper entitled “Higher-Order Multiple Scales Analysis of Weakly Nonlinear Lattices with Implications for Directional Stability.”

The paper, co-authored with Fronk’s advisor Dr. Michael Leamy, placed first following a rigorous Student Paper Competition (SPC) review process conducted by the SPC subcommittee of the ASME Technical Committee on Vibration and Sound.

Fronk will present his work at the ASME 2018 International Design Engineering Technical Conferences & Computers and Information in Engineering Conference (IDETC/CIE 2018) taking place in Quebec City, Canada, August 26-29, 2018.

IDETC/CIE 2018 will highlight emergent technologies that impact the critical engineering issues of product design and development, manufacturing, and the management and integration of information systems throughout the product life-cycle.
