Professional Summary
Director of Information Technology serving the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. Stephen directs the overall operations, activities, and staff of the Information Technology Department ensuring systems integration, and equipment and procedure effectiveness of information technology operations. He acts as a leader and advocate for information technology integration, and is responsible for planning, coordinating and implementing comprehensive technology environments supporting academic, research and administrative systems; as well as high-performance computing (HPC), networking, security, and database services, and a host of other cyber-infrastructure related services.
Stephen has managed campus resources for over 18 locations across the Southeast US for two different university systems, serving as a key management and executive advisor regarding operations and IT infrastructure. He currently serves on multiple governance boards at Georgia Tech including; the Georgia Tech College of Engineering IT Leadership Council, CIO Advisory Council, Change Advisory Board, Network Integrity Council, and the Academic Continuity Technology Group. He has an extended background in business analysis, project management and a passion for high energy astrophysics and baseball.
