The Flowers Invention Studio is the nation's largest student-run makerspace, open to all of Georgia Tech. By promoting an ethic of responsibility, safety, and community ownership, the  Flowers Invention Studio provides students with the resources for designing, prototyping, and sharing ideas through workshops, vendor networks, experienced guidance and access to cutting edge machines, while creating an environment for students to explore and to develop unconventional ideas into reality. Prototyping Instructors (student volunteers) lead other students in the use and maintenance of the space, and are on hand to train students and help with projects. The Studio provides access to a wide variety of prototyping and fabrication tools, like electronic workbenches, 3D printers/scanners, metal forming tools, wood shop tools, laser and waterjet cutters.

Considered the largest machining facility on campus, the George W. Woodruff School's Montgomery Machining Mall provides space and tools for students to learn and to explore fabrication techniques in order to stretch their creativity and obtain the skills critical for modern product design and innovation. The Machining Mall also provides safety and operational training on equipment, assists in design/fabrication of research and academic projects, and provides expert guidance with the design of prototype mechanical devices for course projects.
