I completed my maste's education at the University of Missouri-Rolla and was researching various institutions and programs in order to pursue my doctoral education. My plan of action included finding prestigious institutions with research programs in my area of interest and then talking with faculty members working in that research area. During this process, I talked with Dr. Min Zhou and was really impressed with his research and mutually we decided that pursuing my research in his group was the right choice.
There are excellent courses, research programs, and other research related activities at the Woodruff School. The courses instill core fundamentals of mechanical engineering, the research programs help in advancing the state of the art, and other activates such as seminars and external presentations assist in developing communication skills and overall personality. I think this strong combination helped me define and start my career.
As I mentioned previously, the excellent courses, research programs, academic faculty and other research related activities are the major strengths of the graduate program. I believe that the Woodruff School's graduate program is definitely in the top five in the world. It has one of the best combinations of faculty and student body.
