The diversity of research and reputation of the Woodruff School first attracted me to the program. The combination of the funding package, flexibility in determining my research project and the school's location in Atlanta made my decision to do my graduate work at the Woodruff School simple.
In my job in industry, research and teaching are my main job functions. I left Georgia Tech with a strong foundation in engineering fundamentals and the ability to analyze and make sense of data. These skills allow me to contribute on a wide variety topics and to tackle new problems. Although I didn't fully appreciate it at the time, the teaching experience has also come in handy.
The major strengths of the Woodruff School are its faculty, students and resources. Due to its size, the school can support research in a number of different areas. The flexibility of the program, allowing multidisciplinary research with other departments at Georgia Tech, is another strength.
I would rate the quality of the Woodruff School's graduate programs, faculty, students and facilities very highly. While I was a student, the school build several new buildings with classrooms, labs and offices, added new faculty and devoted time and effort to improving student recruitment.
