I came to the Woodruff School at Georgia Tech because I was looking for a department with an excellent academic reputation, faculty and students who are willing to take risks and eager to grow intellectually, and a supportive, unpretentious environment for research and learning. It's an understatement to say that I wasn't disappointed.

I found that the faculty struck just the right balance between challenging us and encouraging independent thought, on the one hand, and supporting and encouraging us, on the other. I was consistently encouraged to follow my own interests and carve my own research niche and resources were made available for me to succeed. That's the perfect type of environment for an aspiring professor.
