I decided to do my graduate work at Georgia Tech because I was impressed with the enthusiasm of the faculty of the Woodruff School. I was interested in bioengineering research for my graduate work, but I wanted the broad applicability of a degree from a mechanical engineering program. The Woodruff School made that possible. Bill Wepfer, then the Associate Chair for Graduate Studies, played a large part in my decision to go to the Woodruff School as well. His devotion to the students and faculty of the Woodruff School is very compelling. He has a phenomenal ability to remember names and details about prospective and current students, and he uses it well.

My experience at the Woodruff School taught me the importance of life-long learning. To succeed and to exceed expectations, one must always be learning more about the task at hand.

The strengths of the program include the faculty and opportunities to broaden your perspective, such as the Woodruff Distinguished Lecture Series and the Gegenheimer Lecture Series on Innovation. I would rate as excellent the faculty, the student body, and the facilities.
