Professional Summary

James (J.J.) Martino has a passion for helping people, problem solving, and technology. During his 22-year Information Technology career, he has served in various IT management and support roles in corporate, research, and academic settings. His experience includes developing and implementing enterprise IT solutions, managing enterprise systems, ensuring successful service delivery and customer satisfaction, developing organizational IT policies and procedures, unit-level procurement, budgetary management, and providing supervision and leadership to Georgia Tech IT employees. His Georgia Tech career spans multiple units on campus including GTRI, College of Engineering Dean’s Office, School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, and the George W. Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering. Currently, J.J. manages the day-to-day operations of the Woodruff School's IT Help Desk department, leading the team in delivering IT service and ensuring customer satisfaction for the faculty, staff, and students.   

J.J. serves as Vice-Chair for the Woodruff School of Mechanical Engineering’s Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council. 
 
J.J. received his Master of Science in Information Technology degree from Southern Polytechnic State University and his undergraduate degree from Clayton State University. He is currently enrolled in the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business Evening MBA program. He is interested in technology, music, and martial arts. As a martial arts enthusiast, he has a black belt in Songahm Taekwondo from the American Taekwondo Association and practices mixed martial arts from disciplines such as Jujitsu, Arnis, Krav Maga, and Karate.
