Dr. Daniel Morton joined the Woodruff School and the Scalable Thermal Energy Engineering Lab (STEEL) directed by Prof. Shannon Yee in August 2019. Dr. Morton leads the Generation II Reinvented Toilet (G2RT) program as the Managing Director. He oversees the execution of the program and coordinates the four university and two (inter-) national lab scientific collaborations in concert with the GTRI and Helbling Technik’s engineering activities. Prior to joining Georgia Tech, Dr. Morton directed a $40M NSF-center at Emory University on carbon-hydrogen functionalization. He received his PhD in synthetic organic chemistry from the University of East Anglia and his project management certification from Emory University. Dr. Morton has authored 23 peer-reviewed publications, 14 peer-reviewed research reports, three research opinion pieces, and one book chapter.
