May 8, 2008 - (Thursday)
It's 1am. The Georgia Tech campus is quiet with the exception of the Student
Competition Center. Inside lathes are turning and grinders are shooting sparks as a dozen engineers
intensely attack the tasks at hand. This is the last week for the Georgia Tech Motorsports team before their competition in
Michigan.
The chassis is nearly complete, with only a few mounts left to install. Suspension is being fabricated and fitted to the car.
The seat was layed up on Tuesday (see photo on right) and was sanded down tonight. The carbon fiber engine intake and the
radiator exhausts were carefully wet-sanded and are waiting for clearcoating. The bodywork molds are being finalized; layups
should begin soon. Car 35's wiring harness is being expertly assembled by our Head Electrical Engineer, Damon. The progress
of the team has been accelerating as we approach competition.
