The Woodruff School participates in Georgia Tech's Master of Science and Ph.D. in Bioengineering. Specific degree information on this interdisciplinary program is available at www.bme.gatech.edu.

For those who have a B.S.M.E. degree the requirements to obtain a Master of Science in Bioengineering (M.S. BIOE) are:

  • Six hours of basic science courses;
  • Six hours of mathematics courses at least three of which are at 6000-7000 level; and
  • Nine hours of bioengineering courses at least six of which are at the 6000-7000 level.

At least 15 of the 21 core curriculum semester hours must be at 60009000 level. Nine semester hours of ME/BMED 7000 are needed for the thesis option. For the nonthesis option, nine hours of graduate level course work may be substituted for the nine thesis credit hours. Course work may be any combination of graduate courses at Georgia Tech.
