"Development of High Dielectric Or Conductive Composites for Electromagnetic Crystals Manufacturing"

Abstract

Four polymer-matrix composites were developed as candidate materials for the production of electromagnetic crystals. Barium titanate, carbon black, and copper powder were used as filler particles to produce either high dielectric or conductive composites. Two manufacturing techniques were investigated: injection molding to produce high dielectric flexible parts (thermoplastic-elastomer matrix) and fused deposition modeling to produce high dielectric or conductive complex 3D structures (ABS matrix). The mechanical and electrical properties of these materials and structures made from them will be presented.
