"Concurrent Design of Input Shaping and Vibration Absorbers"


In this thesis, vibration absorbers are designed to reduce vibration from a known trajectory move, a step.  The linear and nonlinear absorber solution to this problem is addressed.  Input Shaping schemes for both of these new types of systems are designed to deal with input command induced vibration.  To improve on the results of this, a Vibration Absorber and Input Shaping scheme are designed concurrently to reduce vibration from step disturbances from both the reference command and external sources.  The usefulness of this combined approach for dealing with both external and reference command disturbances is demonstrated through computer simulations
