Responsibilities

As Coordinator of the Frank K. Webb Program in Professional Communication, Dr. Donnell brings technical writing instruction and technical presentation instruction to the undergraduate and graduate classrooms and labs at the Woodruff School. In undergraduate classes, his task is to coordinate instruction concerning reports, evaluation of reports, and the feedback the students receive on their reports. In working with graduate students, his job is to show these students how to become effective editors (and teachers) of writing for others and to help them prepare basic career-building documents. To this end, he teaches a writing course called The Little Red Schoolhouse, he teaches a seminar on applications for graduate fellowships, and he provides coaching and document review as students prepare thesis proposals, manuscripts for publication, and presentations for professional conferences.
