Overview:
  This course is a one-semester undergraduate engineering course on internal combustion (IC) engines. It covers all topics needed for a basic engineering knowledge of the design, operation, analysis and performance of IC engines. It assumes a knowledge of fundamental engineering thermodynamics. Principles of all types of IC engines are covered including spark ignition (gasoline), compression ignition (diesels), four-stroke, and two-stroke engines. Reciprocating engines used in automobiles and other trucks are the major focus.
