Dear Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of the Board of the International Congress on Ultrasonics and on behalf of the Local Organizing Committee it is my pleasure to invite you to participate in the 2015 ICU congress in Metz, France, May 10-15 , 2015. The congress will be held at l’Arsenal and is hosted by Georgia Tech Lorraine in collaboration with the French Acoustical Society. The 2015 ICU will gather the very top researcher in the field of ultrasonics and will present a modern scientific program combining established research topics in combination with the newest emerging subjects.
Metz, located in the center of Europe in France near Luxembourg, Belgium and Germany, is an eye-catching historical city well-known for tourism and culture, but also for its countless trees and its charming yellow buildings constructed with natural stones (‘pierre de jaumont’). Additionally Metz and the region of Lorraine are also known for their attractiveness to new technology based industry. L’Arsenal, which is essentially a military building transformed into a theatre and congress center, is one of the best in its kind in the whole world for its fabulous acoustics and its marvelous and original robust architecture. L’Arsenal is also ideally located in the city center of gorgeous Metz with plenty of restaurants and bars, historical buildings, beautiful walking areas, the river Moselle, shopping areas and hotels. A new attraction at walking distance from the congress site is the ‘Centre Pompidou’. By TGV train you reach Metz very fast and comfortably from Paris.
Last but not least I wish to express my gratitude to our main partners ‘La Région de Lorraine’ and ‘Metz Métropole’ and I welcome companies and organizations to step into our partners’ footsteps and participate in this international event.

Sunday May 10, 2015 : Opening of ICU 2015 for ICU Board and local organizing committee
Monday May 11, 2015 : First day of the congress beginning in the morning with opening ceremony.
Friday May 15, 2015 : closing ceremony and award ceremony in early evening.
